The CNCDH makes a series of recommendations on the effective respect of fundamental rights of the people present in Calais aiming at measures at the international and national level, including the protection of health and access to care, effective access to the right to apply for asylum, putting an end to the violence committed by the police, guaranteeing access to education for children, guaranteeing the rights of unaccompanied foreign minors, identifying and protecting potential victims of human trafficking.

The CNCDH carried out 70 interviews with civil society, local and central authorities, including the Ministry of Interior, and visited Calais and in its surrounding areas. Several delegations from the CNCDH also visited reception and orientation centres in Montpellier, Strasbourg and Le Mans.
